Mary and Chance.

Website Update:  I love adding photos and other bits of news..  Some of you have sent me
some canine candids and I just love to post them.  Keep it up!  The website URL: www.
gsdcofmemphis.com.  The Howl is now added to the site monthly (more or less, to be honest) for
those who may not have system capability to easily download the attached email version.  If you
would like to see additions or changes to our website, please email me and let me know.  I have
mentioned that I will be adding links as time permits.  So far I have not received any input.  Please
email me some of your favorite links and I will add them.   I think that this will be a great help to
those who may be searching for GSD information.  I would welcome any suggestions, especially if
they come prior to the Christmas holidays as I am planning to do some maintenance on it over
some vacation time I plan on taking during that time.

National Notes:  I know, I know, the 2007 national just ended, but keep in mind that in November
of 2008 we will be going to Beaumont, TX for the next National, so start making plans to get it all
together (it is never too early).  You can check the Parent Club website for more details over the
next few months.  Please volunteer to help at the National.  The national committee can always use
helpers in a variety of positions.  So, plan to be involved.  You will meet some great people and I
believe that it will make your national experience more fun.

GSDCA Board of Directors:  Since the national meeting in Colorado, things have been very
quiet on the “Parent Club Board” front.  I guess that no news is good news, especially in light of all
of the controversy just before elections.  I would expect that our new president, Gail Hardcastle, will
be addressing the club before to long…our own “state of the state” address, if you will.

Countdown to Spring 2008!!!!!   Very soon we will have our annual spring shows in Forest
City, AK.  In 2008 we will also host the futurity.  So, there will be many, many opportunities to help
out.  Pease think about what you might be able to do to make this easier on all of us.  If you have not
made your reservations yet, I suggest you “get on it” and do so before they are all gone.  I suspect
that our turn-out will be high this year because of the futurity.  The motel is:  Best Western Colony
Inn (870-633-0870).  We will be discussing the show at our next meeting in February.  I hope to see
all of you there!

The Last Yap:  Well, Christmas is over for another year.  I took down the tree and decorations
today and stored them away once again.  I hope that all of you had a wonderful holiday.  I have been
on “vacation” for the past week, trying to “burn” some of my PTO.  I have to admit that I have been a
little bit bored.  It has been so rainy and muddy that much of my time has been spent shuttling Tory
and Miss Em back and forth through the living room into the garage to dry off and ‘de-mud’
themselves…ick!  I promise that my next house will have a specific dog room where I won’t have to
worry about my flooring, furniture or woodwork!  I hope that all of you have a safe and happy New
Year!

Until next month, have fun with each other and your doggies!
